Do you want to use your skills and experience to develop and strengthen the operations of a small and dynamic charity working on behalf of marginalised children? Then this is your opportunity!
The Bethany Childrenâ€™s Trust (BCT) influences, mobilises and equips churches (locally and globally) to lead their communities in protecting and nurturing vulnerable children and addressing beliefs, practices and circumstances that lead to their harm.
BCTâ€™s operations are virtual rather than office-based. The team connects or meets regularly for strategic planning, review and to pray together. We are looking for someone with proven management experience in the charity sector who will:
- oversee the smooth running, resourcing and strategic development of BCTâ€™s internal operations and services;
- manage the support and development of BCT staff;
- take the lead in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation of BCTâ€™s operations.
The role also entails helping to give support and guidance to BCTâ€™s overseas project partners.
The successful candidate will have significant, proven experience in:
- management responsibility within a charity;
- organisational and team development;
- policy development and ensuring compliance with GDPR and charity regulations;
- overseas project development and working cross-culturally;
- working with marginalised children.
The successful applicant will be committed to BCTâ€™s Christian beliefs.
Status: Part-time (3 days a week)

At this key time of growth, The Bethany Childrenâ€™s Trust (BCT) is looking for up to three special people to join our Board of Trustees. You will play an invaluable part in helping to lead the development of BCT and ensuring that our God-given vision and mission are kept at the heart of all that we do. You will enjoy the support of a prayerful, close-knit, excellent team and the adventure of seeing God at work in and through us!
The boardâ€™s main responsibilities include helping to set the direction and goals of BCT; protecting and promoting our vision and values; ensuring good governance and fulfilling our statutory responsibilities.
We are particularly looking for people who have experience in any of the following areas:
- International, cross-cultural experience â€“ particularly with children at risk
- Fundraising and development and supporter relations
Candidates will be willing and able to give an equivalent of around 12 days a year to the role and to commit themselves to a minimum three-year term.
