Pray

‘The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.’ (James 5:16)

Prayer works! We pray because we care deeply about the children our partners support, and we know God does too. He is able to bring transformation to the lives of vulnerable children, so we pray with confidence, knowing he hears and he cares.

Latest prayer points

Please remember BCT and our partners within your personal prayer times or your regular prayer group. Below are some fresh points for prayer:

  • Uncertain times: Pray for our Congolese partner EPED, amid continuing upheaval in their nation. The government has declared it ‘too expensive’ to hold long-awaited elections, prompting concerns that President Joseph Kabila is unwilling to cede power. It is difficult to work on the streets of Kinshasa in the evenings due to a growing sense of unrest. Pray that politics will not get in the way of God’s purposes for DRC’s children.
  • Double whammy: HIV has a profound effect on children, especially in the nations where our partners operate, because treatment is less readily available and stigma is rife. For many, contracting the virus means a rapid descent into extreme poverty. Give thanks for what God is doing through our Rwandan partner, APRECOM, who faithfully serve children affected by HIV, by offering spiritual, emotional and health-related support.
  • A shoulder to lean on: Children and their families in Bukora wrestle with many different issues resulting from displacement, poverty and HIV. Praise God that two volunteers from churches in Bukora have now joined APRECOM workers Donation and David to provide holistic support to those in great need.
