Pray

‘…if my people… will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ (2 Chronicles 7:14)

When we pray, humbly and earnestly, our gracious, holy God will hear us and act. It’s a promise! So when we pray for our partners and the children they serve, we pray with confidence, knowing that our God is good, that he cares passionately about marginalised children, and that he keeps his promises.

Latest prayer points

Please remember BCT and our partners within your personal prayer times or your regular prayer group. Below are some fresh points for prayer:

  • Tough talk: Several of our partners are involved in tackling child witch accusations, by which children are often subjected to hideous abuse. SCWA exists to challenge the beliefs and practices underpinning such accusations. Ask God to extend its reach, amplify its voice and increase its impact as the coalition builds networks to tackle the issue at its roots.
  • Double exposure: Life is brutal for street-living children such as those in Kinshasa who are served by EPED – and it’s especially harsh for girls. They are at risk of sexual violence as well as hunger, disease and lack of shelter. Pray for protection for girls in this situation. Pray too that the girls will heed EPED’s teaching about sexual health and HIV prevention.
  • Building up the body: BCT’s Susie Howe is visiting APRECOM in Rwanda this month, to review the work and encourage the team. Pray for safe travel, smooth arrangements and a real meeting of hearts and minds. Pray also for Susie’s meeting with Rev Jean-Paul Aruna of LVLE, during the same visit.
