Some families have to try and make a place to live using any materials they can find. This might be pieces of plastic draped over sticks of wood to make walls and some rusty sheets of metal for a roof. These homes don't keep out the rain. They don't provide a place that gives safe protection for people or belongings. They are easily blown down in the wind. They are dusty and cramped.
Some children don't even have this. They live on the streets with other children. At night they might sleep under a market stall or in an old abandoned car.
In the picture here you can see a mum and her daughters. The mum really loves her girls and tries to look after them as well as she can. But the only home she can afford is this shelter made from mud and sticks.
Let's pray this month for children who don't have a place to live where they can be comfortable, clean and protected.
We can pray that families will have the money or materials to build, rent or buy homes that are secure, give protection from the weather and have water and a toilet.
We can pray that children who live on the streets will return to their families, or find other people who will welcome them into safe and caring homes.
We can thank God for the home that we live in.
