TEAM

HIV and AIDS is one of the biggest threats to the well being of children in the world today. The church is one of the few agencies with the coverage and presence throughout local communities to make a long term commitment and significant impact.

Through the TEAM project, BCT facilitates workshops for churches and other agencies to develop expertise and skills in child care and development, HIV & AIDS care and prevention and orphan care. Workshops, co-facilitated with local trainers, are participatory, culturally appropriate and based on accepted good practice.

All training is based on the premise that participants can be trainers themselves, passing on skills learnt to their church congregations or others in their organisations. 

BCT’s Involvement

• To date, workshops have been facilitated in Mozambique, Rwanda, Philippines, Nigeria and Togo.
• 80% have resulted in community initiatives being established or skills being passed on to others.
