Michelle Arthur

Michelle’s life was turned upside down and right side up by Jesus in 1996 when He lifted her out of a life of drugs, alcohol, promiscuity and pain.  An amazing healing journey followed and now Michelle is passionate about seeing others step more and more into the fullness of life that is their inheritance as the children of God.

She always saw herself as a missionary but believed that she was called to the UK.  However, after her husband died suddenly in 2013, God took her on a journey that led to her leaving England and all that she knew on a one way ticket to Africa in 2021.  She knew what 5 weeks looked like and God asked her if she would trust Him with what came next.  She is still on that adventure and it has taken her to 4 African nations, but since September 2022 she has called  Moshi, in Tanzania, home.

Though many people thought she was giving up everything to go to Africa, the truth is she has received far more than she gave up.  Tanzania has brought her the richest of blessings, an extended family of sons, daughters and grandchildren. She sees er primary mission is to build kingdom family with these amazing Tanzanians God has connected her with.

She also has the privilege of teaching and preaching in local churches, and one of her favourite things is to teach on preaching the gospel, prophesy and healing the sick and then taking church communities out to love those in their communities’.

Her greatest desire is to see Tanzanians (and Africans) see themselves as God sees them, and for the rest of the world to see that too.  They are incredible!

Her journey to becoming a trustee of BCT started at a conference she was speaking at where BCT got to share about what they did. She was thinking that she had nothing to offer as she lived in Tanzania but God told her she could be a trustee and bring her experience there. She has many years of experience working in UK charities, has been a trustee, and now has a few years of living cross culturally on the African continent. In obedience she applied and discovered that the ethos of the project, the staff and the trustees was something she fully supported and was blessed to be a part of.  She is looking forward to seeing all that this journey will bring as she partners with the other trustees and the staff to see all that God wants to achieve through BCT.
